The College of Creative Design has aligned itself with the vibe of Shenzhen’s economic and social development and the industry demands of the city’s two pillar sectors, namely, art and design sector and culture and creative sector. The College looks to offer Industrial Design, Animations, Art and Design Studies (Interactive Design, Fashion Design, Public Arts, Digital Media Art), and Product Design, with an initial student enrollment plan of 70 for the Industrial Design course in 2017. The College, by the end of Phase One (2018-2022), plans to enroll 1,800 undergraduate students, 200 postgraduates and 200 international students.
The College aims to develop highly skilled creative and design talents in applied sciences. The students, equipped with practical skills, are expected to join a highly skilled work force for important roles such as managers of cutting-edge design, leaders in the creative industry and professional design practitioners at the frontline. The college pays attention to students’ participation in the internship program, introduces workshop mode and sets up flexible and diverse teaching methods. The college will from small class, establish actual practice system and project guidance to realize the elite training mode. Students will communicate easily to teachers and the college will full develop students' autonomy and creativity.
The College of Creative Design focuses on the innovative mode, emphasizing the combination of research and practice. It will also build an experimental and practical training center integrating university and enterprise based on the real technology and process of production to form new technical skills training system and practice environment.
