Who we are…
Community Network for Manchester is an organisation with charitable status which specialises in enabling voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups to use their knowledge and understanding of local communities to make a difference in Manchester.
What we do…
- We provide opportunities for VCS groups to participate in local decision making processes in Manchester and enable them to influence strategic development and service delivery.
- We develop links between voluntary and community groups and promote collaborative working that supports a thriving and sustainable Third Sector in Manchester.
- We give policy and development support to voluntary and community groups in Manchester.
- We also deliver a targeted information and communications service to share knowledge, information and good practice across the VCS in Manchester, and actively work to encourage VCS partnership working with the public and private sectors.
How we do it...
- Strategic Engagement
- Strengthening the Third Sector
- Information and Communication
- Support in Building Capacity
- Inclusion and Diversity
Participants from the voluntary and community sector attend Manchester Partnership meetings so they can feed in the views of voluntary and community groups. They are also responsible for feeding back from these meetings so community groups are kept informed of important strategic and practical developments.
